ASME Webinar: Integrating AI into the Undergrad Mechanical Engineering Curriculum

How will AI impact the education and careers of mechanical engineers? The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) will host a webinar on teaching AI fundamentals, creating AI tools, preparing students to use AI critically and responsibly, and assessing the impact of AI on learning.

As the mechanical engineering pedagogy must prepare the next generation of engineers to adopt AI, a panel of experts who research, teach, and assess the impact of emerging AI capabilities in engineering education and practice will share their strategies for addressing AI challenges.

Experts will include:

  • Faez Ahmed, associate professor, ME, MIT

  • Levent Burak Kara, Ladd professor, ME department, Carnegie Mellon University

  • Carissa Carter, academic director, Stanford d.school

  • Tricia Bertram Gallant, director of academic integrity and Triton Testing, UC San Diego
