WESF plays a role in promoting standardization and eliminating global trade barriers.
The organization known as IPC – originally the Institute of Printed Circuits – is now the Global Electronics Association.
The Global Electronics Association will retain the IPC brand for the industry’s standards and certification programs. Furthermore, the IPC Education Foundation is now the Electronics Foundation.
With its renaming, the association announced that it is expanding its resources to “strengthen advocacy, deepen industry insights, and enhance stakeholder communications—all aimed at advancing and elevating the electronics industry.” As part of its offerings, the association recently released a trade flows study of the global electronics industry, which emphasizes how cooperation drives resilience in electronics trade. Information is available on electronics.org.
“Electronics today are the backbone of all industries, which makes its supply chain crucial to economies, governments, and everyday life,” said Dr. John W.
