The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) has announced the official launch of the IAPMO Innovation and Research Fund, which, through collaborative industry efforts and cutting-edge research, aims to improve public health, strengthen climate resiliency, and increase housing affordability, while contributing to a more sustainable future.
The collaborative efforts will include industry-leading companies, academic institutions, philanthropic groups, and individuals “committed to the belief that technological innovation holds the key to improving the quality of life in the communities where we live and work,” the association reported.
The fund will focus on three key areas and objectives:
Water + Health: Research new methodologies that improve water quality and develop methods to deliver water that promote human health and safety
Innovative New Systems: Investigate and promote efficient systems and best practices to address water scarcity, ensuring the sustainable utilization of resources for future generations
New Tools: Driving increased usage of accurate pipe sizing measurements
“IAPMO is and has always been deeply committed to advancing our industry, leading the progress rather than merely reacting to it,” said IAPMO CEO Dave Viola. “The IAPMO Innovation and Research Fund represents our dedication to meeting contemporary challenges and future demands. Through collaboration, innovation, and expertise, we aim to build an industry that is resilient, forward-thinking, and always leading the pursuit of results-oriented solutions.”
